Fight hard in the ring. Respect everyone outside it. Boxing Underdog is a fighting game, but the people behind the gloves are real. These Community Rules apply everywhere in Boxing Underdog where you meet other players - fights, ranked, direct fights, the social lobby and rooms, tournaments, leaderboards and, on Meta Quest and Steam, voice chat - and on boxingunderdog.com. They are part of our End User License Agreement.
Be a good sport
- Touch gloves, fight fair and accept the result. Winning and losing are both part of boxing.
- Treat every player with respect, whatever their skill, platform, age, origin or the way they look or sound.
- Keep the fighting inside the ring. In the social lobby and in rooms, give other players their space: do not follow, crowd or block a player who wants to be left alone.
- Keep voice chat friendly. Banter about the fight is fine; attacks on the person are not.
- Help new players. You were new once.
- Protect yourself: never share your password, sign-in codes, address or other personal information. Monologic Games staff and moderators will never ask you for your password.
Not allowed
The following behaviour is not allowed in Boxing Underdog. The list gives examples and is not complete: we judge behaviour by its effect on other players.
Harassment and bullying
Insulting, mocking, intimidating or repeatedly targeting a player, in voice chat, with your avatar's gestures or through names.
Hate and discrimination
Anything that attacks or demeans people because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or similar characteristics, including hateful symbols and slurs.
Threats and violence
Threatening anyone with harm in real life, encouraging violence outside the game, or encouraging self-harm or suicide.
Sexual content and the protection of minors
Sexual comments, sexual gestures or sexual behaviour with your avatar, and sexual content of any kind. Any sexual approach to a minor is reported to the authorities.
Cheating and unfair play
Cheats, bots, macros, modified game files or clients, manipulating tracking or your network connection, exploiting bugs instead of reporting them, fixing fights, letting someone else play your ranked fights, using several accounts to boost a ranking, and quitting fights on purpose to avoid a loss.
Offensive names
Names that are offensive, hateful or sexual, or that contain personal information or advertising, including the names of tournaments you create. Your name in the game is your platform name (on PlayStation®5, your Online ID), so the same rules apply to it.
Impersonation
Pretending to be another player, a Monologic Games employee, a moderator, or Sony Interactive Entertainment, Meta, Valve or their staff.
Sharing personal information
Sharing someone else's personal information (such as their real name, address, phone number, photos or accounts) without their permission, or pressuring players to share their own.
Real-money trading
Selling, buying or trading Bucks, virtual items or accounts for real money or anything else of value outside the game, or advertising such services. You can get Bucks only by playing or through the official store of your platform (on PlayStation, PlayStation™Store). Accounts are personal: do not sell, buy, rent or share them.
Spam, scams and illegal activity
Advertising, spam, scams, phishing, links to harmful content, and anything illegal.
How to report a player
- On the fight tablet: during or after a fight, open the tablet and press Report next to your opponent.
- In a room or the social lobby: open the player list and press Report next to the player.
- Choose what happened: harassment, hate speech, cheating, offensive name, inappropriate behaviour or other. The game attaches the player's Online ID (on PlayStation®5) or in-game name, their account and platform, and the fight or room, automatically: you do not need to type anything.
- On the website or by email: use Report a player on boxingunderdog.com/feedback, or write to [email protected] with the player's name, their platform, and when and where it happened.
The player you report is never told who reported them. One report per player per day is enough: reporting the same player again within 24 hours does not add a new report. Please report only real problems: false or abusive reports are against these rules too.
You can also protect yourself straight away: block a player in the game, and you will not be matched with them in ranked fights, and in rooms the game hides or marks them for you. You can mute players in voice chat. On PlayStation®5, players you block through PlayStation™Network are kept apart from you in matchmaking, in rooms and in voice chat too, and you can also report a player with the console's own reporting features; Sony Interactive Entertainment handles those reports under its own terms.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
What happens after a report
- A person in our moderation team reviews every report. A report never leads to a sanction automatically. We aim to review reports within 72 hours.
- We look at the report, the recording of the fight (every fight is recorded for fair play - see the Privacy Policy) and the player's earlier reports and sanctions.
- We decide whether a rule was broken and which sanction fits.
- We tell you in the game when your report has been reviewed and whether we took action. To protect everyone's privacy, we do not share the details of a sanction.
Sanctions
Depending on how serious the behaviour is and whether it is repeated, we may:
- give a warning;
- give a timeout from ranked online play, social online play or both, for 24 hours, 7 days or 14 days (two warnings within 24 hours lead to an automatic 24-hour timeout);
- hide or rename an offensive name or tournament, or remove content;
- remove Bucks, items, results or ranking points gained through cheating, exploits or real-money trading;
- in the most serious cases, or where the law requires it, report the behaviour to the competent authorities and end access to the online services under section 12 of the EULA.
Our moderation system has no permanent bans: the longest timeout is 14 days. A player with a sanction sees it in the game, with what it affects and when it ends. Single-player modes stay available during a timeout.
Who decides
Moderation in Boxing Underdog is carried out by Monologic Games: our team and trusted community moderators who act on our instructions. In the game, our staff and moderators can wear official uniforms so that you can recognise them. Sony Interactive Entertainment, Meta and Valve do not make moderation decisions in Boxing Underdog; they can take action regarding your platform account under their own terms.
Appeals
If you think a sanction was a mistake, appeal on boxingunderdog.com/feedback (Ban appeal) or write to [email protected]. A person reviews every appeal and we answer you.
